Getting Started

Get familiar with some basic topics about digital accessibility and Nexus Inclusion

  • Nexus Inclusion supports organisations in making their websites, platforms, and digital services accessible, inclusive, and compliant with accessibility standards.

  • When you sign up to Nexus Inclusion, you gain access to a suite of digital accessibility tools. We recommend starting with the Website Accessibility Scanner, which analyses your whole website and returns a comprehesive and categorised list of issues, along with recommended fixes. We also have a collection of standalone tolls for when you're ready to deep-dive into specific issues.

  • Digital accessibility is important because it ensures that everyone, especially people with disabilities, can access and use digital content equally. Accessible websites improve usability for all users.

  • No, not at all. Our reports explain any accessibility issues in clear language, with practical guides and examples of fixes. We also explain how each issue affects different disabilities types to give you context for the changes we propose.

  • No, it covers much more than that. Our Pro, Advanced and Enterprise plans include tools to assess and fix digital accessibility for documents, image and media files, and written content.

  • Yes, it will. Most digital accessibility issues are language agnostic and can detected by our tools. For language specific issues, our tools work for all major global languages.

  • There are three things to consider here: the amount of websites you manage, the size of those websites, and the amount of features you want access to. Check out our plan comparison page to get more details and help you decide. Once you're a customer, you also have the option to upgrade to the next plan if you underestimated what you need, or if your needs change.

  • That’s no problem, you can top up your allowance whenever you need to.

  • No, these are only available in Pro and Advanced Plans. However if you sign up to a Starter Plan, you have the option to upgrade later.

Accessibility and Compliance

Explore some of the top questions about digital accessibility and compliance

  • Digital accessibility compliance ensures that websites, applications, and digital content meet legal standards like WCAG, ADA, EAA and Section 508, making them usable for people with disabilities.

  • Most websites need improvement in digital accessibility. If your website has not been checked against recognised standards such as WCAG, it is likely that accessibility issues exist. Running an accessibility scan helps you detect these issues and understand where improvements are needed.

  • "Compliance depends on your location and industry. Common standards include: WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) – A global standard. ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) – Required for U.S. businesses. Section 508 – U.S. government digital accessibility standard. EAA – EU accessibility regulation."

  • Our tool is designed to help you meet and maintain compliance with international accessibility regulations, including WCAG, ADA, EAA, and Section 508.

  • The most recent version published by W3C is WCAG 2.2. However, WCAG 2.1, the previous version, is still the one required by most of the regulations worldwide. Check what version is required in your location.

  • Non-compliance can lead to legal action, fines, reputational damage, and loss of customers. Ensuring compliance reduces risks and improves user experience.

  • Our accessibility monitoring tool supports compliance with WCAG 2.1 & 2.2, ADA, Section 508, EAA, EN 301 549, and other regulations.

  • Ongoing monitoring is crucial to maintain compliance and ensure that updates or changes to your site do not introduce accessibility barriers.

  • Yes, they are. Our tools are regularly updated to incorporate the latest changes in accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.1/2.2, ADA, EAA and Section 508.

  • Improving accessibility doesn't just help people with disabilities to navigate your website and digital content. It also enhances SEO by improving site navigation, search engine crawlability, and user engagement, potentially boosting rankings.

  • When you sign up to Nexus Inclusion, you agree to a year's contract. To become a Nexus Inclusion customer, simply sign up, choose between a monthly or annual payment schedule and provide your billing details. (Assuming 200 x 4 weekly scans in a month). You will have the ability to purchase top-up credits if you’re planning a month with a lot of accessibility work and increased activity.
